Who We Are
The Friends of Barclay Library is organized and dedicated to assisting the library in its mission to provide the best possible programs and services to the community. The Friends group supports the library through the annual Book and Bake Sale, Christmas Cookie Walk and other fundraising activities.
New members are always welcome!

Meetings
The Friends meet at Barclay Public Library quarterly on the fourth Monday in February, April, August and October at 6:30 pm. Meeting attendance is not a membership requirement, although your support in planning events and activities is appreciated. Please consider joining us in supporting our wonderful library!
2025 Calendar of Events and Activities
January
31 – Feb 2 – MAKERS MEETUP: A no frills open style Makers weekend. Bring a project or two and spread out to work without distractions at home. Meet up with other makers and talk about your favorite makes!
February
24th – Meeting 6:30 PM
Library Lover’s Month – dues of $15.00 per person/$25 per family are due at this time. Business memberships are also available at $50.00. Your participation and support is greatly appreciated…less than 5% of the Friends income comes from dues.
April
5th – EASTER EGG HUNT: Community Easter Egg Hunt at Illini Park. Start time is 10:30am Volunteers and donations are welcome! We will need about 10 volunteers. Volunteers meet in Illini Park pavilion at 10:00am.
24th – BOOK & BAKE SALE MEMBERS SHOPPING 6 PM (Friends group only)
25th & 26th – BOOK & BAKE SALE: Book donations accepted the week prior to the sale. Need baked goods and volunteers to help set up and run the sale. (Friday 9AM-5PM, Saturday 9AM-11AM) A volunteer sheet will be at the library service desk beginning April 1st. Volunteer Sign Up
28th – Meeting 6:30 pm
May

19th and 20th – Fall Rummage Sale
October
24TH – BINGO, 6:00-9:00 PM: 2nd annual BINGO at the Harristown Community Center. Free Family event. There will be items available for sale at the concession stand. Volunteers Needed
27th – Meeting 6:30 pm
December
6th – COOKIE WALK: Cookie Walk/Bake Sale, 9:00am-Noon. Cookie bakers and volunteers are needed to set up and work the sale.
