1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Ready, Set, READ! Are you up for the challenge? Join parents and caregivers across the nation in a race to read 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten! A toddler’s brain creates up to two MILLION new connections every second and reading aloud is the best way to grow those connections. As a participant in this program, your child will receive a certificate for every 100 books read, a “book buddy” at 500 books, and special book bag when they reach 1,000 books. Stop by the library service desk to register and receive your first reading log.
During the months that school is in session, students in grades K-12 may receive up to 10 free copies per month for homework purposes. Copies may be from a book or from the computer. Students must register for a “Free Copy Card’ at the library service desk. Additional copies are 15 cents each.
